POSITION SUMMARY: The Creative Director is charged with determining the best way for It Is Written to visually represent content, branding, and online identity. This person filling this position must understand and be committed to the mission of It is Written to share the gospel in the context of the message of the Seventh-day Adventist church.


AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY: Authority as delegated by the President. Responsible for assisting in the visual direction of It Is Written in accordance with Adventist Media Center and North American Division policy and objectives.



  • Ability and proven history of multitasking at a high level and with multiple departments
  • Report directly to the President and carries out responsibilities in creative content.
  • ­­Oversees and supervises the development of creative content and the creative team
  • Provides brand management for It Is Written
  • Quality control of multimedia content
  • Must be able to perform the specific position functions as listed below.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Ministry management
  • Ability and proven history of developing trending designs for mobile-first websites and application
  • UX (User Experience) experience and creativity a plus


Specific Position Functions:

  • Creative Oversight:
    • Oversees workflow for employees of the creative team
    • Oversees the creation of designs for websites, mobile apps, printed materials, DVD covers, and various other projects
  • Brand management:
    • Develops and manages IIW’s marketing image
    • Strategic placement of Web and Print content to enhance the brand
  • Multimedia:
    • Involved in creating various aspects of multimedia content
    • Quality control of existing media assets
    • Involved with quality control of IIW’s video content, audio content, photos, print, and internet assets





  • Education: Minimum of a college degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Minimum of five years
  • Skills, scope, and complexity of duties:
    • Necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to sufficiently handle the job assignment
    • Creative and collaborative abilities
    • Ability to exercise direction, independent judgment, make decisions and assume responsibility
    • Good personal relationship skills
    • Understand or be willing to receive training on a continual basis
    • Flexibility to adapt to urgent projects or unusual situations
  • Membership – member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

  • General working conditions of an office and production studio
  • Travel flexibility and travel hazards
  • Physical requirements: requires standing, walking, time at a desk, reaching, climbing, and lifting (maximum of 50 lbs.)
  • Statistics:
    • 38 regular hours per week,
    • Will require variable hours and weekend work
    • No special clothing or safety gear required
