POSITION SUMMARY: Serve the It Is Written Ministry to develop planned gifts to the ministry. Responsible for the oversight and direction of the Planned giving Department -- in accordance with Adventist Media Center and It Is Written’s policy and objectives.

 

AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY: Authority as delegated by the It Is Written Board. Responsible for assisting in the direction of the Planned Giving & Trust Services of the ministry. -- in accordance with Adventist Media Center and It Is Written’s policy and objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Report directly to the IIW Manager and/or the IIW President
  • Overall supervision of and coordination of the Planned Giving Department
  • Department staff supervision and motivation
  • Planned giving promotion and advertising
  • Trust administration oversight relative to outsourcing vendors
  • Monitor department functions to protect donor confidentiality
  • Member of IIW House Committee
  • Secretary of IIW Gift Acceptance/Trust Administration Committee
  • Member of Western Adventist Foundation board to represent IIW
  • Supervise all Planned Giving/Trust Services Department Staff
  • Serve as a planned giving consultant and trust officer
  • Oversight of existing planned gifts
  • Assuring the maintenance of needed records for attaining an exceptional level of professionalism within the department
  • Fulfill other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the IIW management.

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

 

1. QUALIFICATIONS, SCOPE, & COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES:

  • Education: Minimum of a college degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years
  • Skills, scope, and complexity of duties:
    • Necessary leadership skills to sufficiently handle the job assignment
    • NAD Trust Services Certification
    • Ability to exercise direction, independent judgment, make decisions and assume responsibility
    • Excellent personal relationship skills
    • Pursuit of training on a continual basis to stay updated with the most recent trends and best practices in the industry
    • Flexibility to adapt to urgent projects or unusual situations
  • Member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

    • Donors/supporters of IIW
    • Other stakeholders of the ministry

  • Secondary Contact: President of It Is Written

 

3. WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General working conditions of an office and production studio
  • Travel flexibility and travel hazards
  • Physical requirements: requires standing, walking, time at a desk, reaching, climbing, and lifting (maximum of 50 lbs.)
  • Statistics:
    • 38 regular hours per week,
    • Will require variable hours, weekend work, and travel
    • No special clothing or safety gear required
