Public Relations Director

DEPARTMENT: Public Relations

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Public Relations Director serves the Voice of Prophecy by building relationships with various publics—including ministry supporters, listeners, Bible students and many more—thus enabling the ministry to carry out its mission of sharing the gospel with the world through media and public evangelism.

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

o Personal: Has a close relationship with Jesus Christ sets a good example for others.
o Church: Is a member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
o Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public relations or a related field.
o Experience: Minimum of five years in the public relations (or related) field.
o Competencies
 Advanced writing, editing and communication skills.
 Self-starter—able to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
 Good at multitasking.
 Ability to exercise direction, make decisions and assume responsibility.
 Good interpersonal skills.
 Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or related Apple applications. Photoshop/InDesign experience a plus.
 Flexibility to adapt to urgent projects or unusual situations.
 Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies, including donors and board members.

 Executive Committee, church leadership, ministry supporters, listeners, pastors, lay leaders, Bible students
o Principal Contact: Manager-Treasurer

 

3. WORKING CONDITIONS:

o General working conditions of an office.
o Requires some travel.
o Requires some standing, walking and work at a desk.
o Requires minimal reaching, climbing, and lifting (maximum of 30 lbs.)
o Specific requirements:
 38 regular hours per week.
 Some weekend work.
 Professional attire.
 No special safety gear needed.
