On October 19 H.M.S. Richards begins his radio ministry, “Family Ministry”, with other Adventist ministers on KNX in Los Angeles

Voice of Prophecy

First broadcast of the Voice of Prophecy radio program and the second religious program on the radio

1942
First Religious Broadcast

On January 4 the Voice of Prophecy radio program becomes the first religious coast-to-coast broadcast on 89 stations of the Mutual Broadcasting Network

Adventist Bible Correspondence School

In February the Voice of Prophecy launches the first national Adventist Bible Correspondence School

La Voz de la Esperanza

Dr. Braulio Pérez Marcio starts La Voz de La Esperanza (The Voice of Hope in Spanish)

Faith for Today

On May 21 William Fagal starts broadcasting the Faith for Today television program in New York.

First National Religious Telecast

In December Faith for Today becomes the first national religious telecast.

It Is Written

In the spring George Vandeman launches It Is Written, the first Seventh-day Adventist television program in color, in Fresno, California to 13 stations

H.M.S. Richards, Jr. is now Speaker/Director of the Voice of Prophecy

Seventh-day Adventist Radio, Television and Film Center

The General Conference establishes the Seventh-day Adventist Radio, Television and Film Center, a nonprofit corporation, in Newbury Park, CA, with Alvin Munson as its first president

It Is Written and Faith for Today move to the Center

Westbrook Hospital

Faith Tor Today launches Westbrook Hospital, a television drama series that shows how Christian virtues such as honesty and love work in the real world

While serving as Director of Public Affairs at KHOF in Glendale, California, Walter Arties develops the Breath of Life telecast.

In February the Adventist Media Productions, with Warren Judd as manager, becomes fully operational with 22,000 square feet of studio space, two television studios, four audio studios, and six video editing suites.
